Play Dough

Yesterday was a hot and windy day. Gotta love the Santa Anas! Anyway, with random flying objects and debris, I made the boys play inside. One of our favorite indoor activities is to make play dough and then play with it. This is a recipe that I really like. It doesn't dry out as fast as other home-made play doughs I've tried. Try it and have fun!

2 c. flour
1/2 c. salt (cheap fine grained iodized salt works well)
3/4 - 1c. water
1/2 t. food coloring (I use a little more so it's brighter)
2. t. cream of tartar or allum to smooth dough
2 T. oil

Knead on floured board until play dough consistency.
